you may be wondering…

why palette of the week?

The only way to truly understand and make sense of the world around us is to take notice of its physical operations.

These operations do not alter when studied. They have no sense of time, no consciousness, and no intention to stick around. They occur purely, and they describe reality for us.

Our species has consciousness, identity. We like to individualize within a community. Colors can be a tool to describe the self. We also communicate using color. Color is an ancient language we still use to tell each other things.

Colors are largely subjective and depend on the eye of the person seeing, the light being cast, and of what material they are made. In this way, they have no meaning. Their beauty and familiarity is entirely manmade.

Colors on their own or together are fascinating when analyzed objectively, if possible (not possible). They can predict and retell other sensory experiences— taste, smell. They can incite melancholy. They are immortal and built into the world.
